Ok, time for that old favourite, should you take malaria medicine when visiting Southeast Asia? What other medication should you take? Do you travellers/cyclists take doxy? Do you take malarone? Do you get all your injections? Do you get this medication at home or when you are in Bangkok? What is best? Any and all advice is good.

I've heard tell a nice gin and tonic or two does the trick.
I've also heard that the much touted "hepatitis A and B" shots are not as urgent as pharmaceutical companies may have you believe. My Canadian doctor once told me about the billions of dollars made on this stuff from weary travellers... he noted hep B is only really a risk if you'll be doing drugs and engaging the local sex industry. Not particularly a concern for old married Americans going to a beach resort in the Dominican Republic, though some people Bangkok-bound may want to think twice.
Not sure about Japanese Encephilyis (sp) though. I may consider this one.

I have never taken anything. I take some DEET repellent and thats about all.
I have never had those jabs. My doctor said it wasn't necessary.
