Ifyou have any advice for a solo rider from BKK to Vientanne in June, with 2 weeks planned, it would be appreciated. Any specific areas to see or avoid? It looks like the Northeast isn't a much touredarea, for better or worse. I'll pull a trailer if you don't think thatis a technical or security issure.

It will rain a bit but the rain will cool things down a bit.

You might want to take in Sukhothai if its not too far out of your way. Sukhothai is the Thai alternative to Angkor Wat.

I cycled through the Phu Kradung area and loved it. Most of Isaan is the same but it is a friendly place.

If you go through Khon Kaen stop for a couple of nights. I dont know why I loved this place but it is nice with a good vibe.

Pulling a trailer in SEA? I have never seen it BUT I would be inetrested in hearing how it is. I don't know if it is a good idea or bad. Maybe a little restrictive when you get to those hills in the north. I am only speculating though, I have never done it. I am planning a trip to Cambodia and I know it would be bad to pull a trailer there because of the roads. I have toured in Thailand before and the roads are great. Just those hills man!Pray

Thanks

I think you have about 8 days in the saddle if you go through KK. I did this a few years back. Good flat roads and cool people. Many places to stay.

Pulling a trailer is fine I did it last year in Thailand. I didn't go up any mountains but I took it down south. The trailer was no problem and helped me. I took it during the monsoon and it helped me to keep my things dry. I can not help you with the route things as I didn't go up into the east or north.
